The miraculous gift of the goddess of health and abundance

Legend says that in ancient times, when the land beneath the Carpathians was still wild, the goddess of health and abundance, Mokosh, was born. She saw people suffering through long winters, growing weak under the weight of illness and lack of food. She therefore created the cornelian cherry tree – a blessing for this land.

"This tree is a gift for those who honor it. Its fruit holds the power of the sun, heals the weak body, and strengthens the spirit. Use it wisely," said Mokosh before she disappeared into the morning mist.

Cornelian cherries soon filled the forests and meadows. People gathered them and discovered their strength – it was believed that regular consumption brought health, power, and longevity.

At first they were simply dried or eaten fresh, but the inventiveness of the people beneath the Carpathians had no limits. They learned that countless delicacies could be crafted from the fruit.

Over time, however, the tradition began to fade. The modern world forgot about the treasures hidden in nature.

Yet just as the goddess Mokosh sows her gifts into the earth, the idea of reviving the cornelian cherry never vanishes. In 2025 the Slovak company BIODRIEN sets out to awaken this ancient tradition and return the fruit to everyday life.

Cornelian cherries are rare, growing in only a few places on Earth. One of them is Slovakia – a country beneath the Carpathians where this gift of nature has found its exceptional home.

Shake before use. Sediment is natural.

MY STORY
Herbs – gifts from Mother Earth – have accompanied people since time immemorial. Grandmothers gathered them on mountain meadows, dried them in attics, and brewed teas that guarded families through long winters.
